A Nice Quiet Cape Cod Kinda Day

Today the camera took a break, as did we.  It was overcast and rainy today; a lazy kind of day.  As usual I woke up early and ventured out for a walk in the neighbourhood.  The air was thick and dewy; the humidity at an all time high.  When I came back one would have thought that I just walked out of the shower - I was that sweaty and sticky.  Ewwww.  But the walk was incredible.  The houses here (and even the businesses) are all made up of weather-worn wooden shakes, with gorgeous landscapes and incredible views.  It's quiet and peaceful and such a lovely place for a relaxing holiday.

We went for lunch at a local "shanty", ate off a pier and did a little shopping.  This afternoon Dorian and I played ping-pong then relaxed and chatted with our family.  This evening Dale and I treated Aunty Marcy and Pam to a wonderful meal and watched as Dorian ate his meal of grilled salmon.  He's growing up so quickly.

Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn we head to Boston for a quick tour of the City before the Red Sox game in the evening.  We have decided to nix Cleveland and head home early.  This is enough travelling for us I think.  We should be home Monday next week.  We leave Boston on Friday morning to Rochester, NY, then Rochester to South Bend, IN on Saturday, head to Minneapolis on Sunday, then Monday we will be home.  Home sweet home.  :)  Looking forward to it.

I miss my Kobe dog SO much and I just can't wait to see him!!!

But first, the big game tomorrow, yet another big highlight of our trip!!  Pictures for sure will follow!!

-----------------------------------------------------------
Before I go, just a little bit of information that was received by Aunty Marcy and Pam...some interesting (read: freaky!!) similarities between Lincoln and Kennedy:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.

John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.

Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.

Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.

Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.

Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.

Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford'.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.

Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Interesting bit of information, no?

Hugs to all,

M.
